You might think it is a bit weird to talk about a game that launched six years ago. However, it’s just not any game. Among all the catalog of Ubisoft games, The Division 2 has been one of the best and most beloved by fans, thanks to its top-notch expansions, yearly content, and more. This week, The Division 2 landed on Xbox Game Pass, which opened the door for even more gamers to try this fantastic third-person shooter. The best part about it is that The Division 2 also launched a new DLC, making it now the best time to join the fight.

While The Division 2 arrived on Xbox Game Pass on May 27, some people forgot about it, especially since the best RPG of 2024 landed on the same week. Still, The Division 2 is a game you shouldn’t overlook. Initially, it launched in 2019. It featured excellent shooting mechanics and a lot of improvements over its predecessor. While many prefer the game’s first story, the sequel has some great moments, especially with the DLC.

What makes The Division 2 so good, however, is that it gets yearly roadmaps with a plethora of content. For instance, Year 7 kicked off alongside the Battle for Brooklyn DLC. The latter is a paid DLC with a level 40 boost, a mini-campaign, and endgame content. However, it isn’t necessary to enjoy all of the Year 7 content, which brings many onboarding improvements and a way to add the open world to the endgame grind, which has been requested for a long time.

An Excellent Way To Try It Before Getting All the DLC

Jumping into The Division 2 now that it’s on Xbox Game Pass is an excellent idea. First, the new-player experience has vastly improved. Second, you’ll get the hang of the game before making any Year Pass purchases. Last but not least, you’ll get years’ worth of improvement just by being part of Game Pass, which is a huge bonus.

If you do decide to get more passes, you’ll have to buy them, along with the DLC. However, the base game has a lot of content for you to try. The story alone will take around 26 hours, which is quite lengthy for a free game. So, if you’re done with other shooters or all the amazing RPGs in Game Pass, The Division 2 is an excellent choice. If not, you can always wait for the imminent June lineup, which should be coming soon.
