The slice-of-life and creature-collecting title Ooblets features a mechanic where you can upgrade and expand your Farmhouse facilities. Obviously, you would need materials to do it, and one of them is the Oobsidian, an uncommon resource that’s somewhat hard to find. Obsidian will fast become necessary to build crucial equipment like Oobcoops as well as to extend its storage and create a self-sustaining Farm. Thankfully, there are a few places and ways where you can find and get Oobsidian to upgrade your Oobcops in Ooblets.
Finding Oobsidian in Ooblets
First, you can get Oobsidian by breaking Rocks on the Farm. While on your Farm, press Q to enter Farming Mode. Then select the Rock and press the Spacebar three times to break them. It’s a rather surefire way to get them but does consume quite a lot of Energy; six Energies, to be precise. And you don’t have to worry about running out of Rocks since they often spawn on the farmland.
Speaking of spawning, Oobsidian also randomly generates around the Badgetown. It can be found on the beach, main plaza, and inside houses. With that in mind, although the spawn rate is pretty low, you might want to keep an eye open while running errands around town. It is also obtained from Sea Dangling (fishing), so anytime you have extra resources, don’t forget to create Bait by recycling stuff or picking up empty cans. Some people on the internet reported that you can get Oobsidian more often with a Super Bait.
If we refer to the in-game description though, catching Gleamy Ooblets or Gleamies (or Shinies if you are a Pokemon player) will also net you the uncommon material. Obtain their seed through a dance competition, then add them to your Oobcoop once grown. They will occasionally produce Oobsidian while helping out with Farm tasks.
“Rare mystery pebbles throughout Oob. Thought to be a hardened byproduct created by gleamy Ooblets.”
Lastly, if you still need to find more Oobsidian in Ooblets, you can get it by spending 100 Wishies in the Wishywell. It’s pretty expensive so I suggest saving this method for last.
