Undisciplined children can be the worst, especially when they believe they can get away with whatever they want. And one resident in Oregon had to deal with such a rascal after telling a young, problematic boy not to leave trash bags around the apartment complex. The neighborhood had a dumpster, so it was aggravating that the child didn’t use it. After being confronted, the boy allegedly apologized, but that wasn’t the last the neighbor saw of the mischief maker’s antics.
“This was the response,” the neighbor said dryly yet annoyed, posting a photo of a door that had been egged, smeared with McDonald’s sauce, and even kicked at the bottom. The mess was topped off with a note duct-taped to the door that read, “Clean up after yourself!!” in very childish font and goofily drawn characters. Needless to say, the child meant nothing by his empty apology earlier and wanted to get back at the neighbor for telling him what to do. Fortunately, the vandalism done wasn’t too serious, but it is definitely a bad omen of what the child would do later on if further provoked.
“He’s gone to war with you. Time for the big guns, tell his parents,” suggests a comment on the neighbor’s Reddit post about the matter. He responded that he had gone to the boy’s home to have a talk with the parents, but no one answered. He then said that he plans to take things up with the landlord, then the police, if the situation escalates. Another person chimed in, saying that the man should refuse to clean up the mess and make a report to the apartment’s office. “Nothing like a lease violation to encourage the parents to parent,” the commenter remarked.
Hopefully, the Oregon resident will eventually confront their parents about the ordeal, as any vandalism, regardless of age, is still unacceptable. The troublemaker needs to know his actions have consequences. But on a more comical note, many Reddit users couldn’t believe that the boy resorted to egging, considering the current times: “Throwing eggs….IN THIS ECONOMY!?“
