It goes without saying that the United States is currently in regression mode regarding the general disposition toward minority groups and their rights. The Trump administration has had a heavy impact on society, and many have seen it as negative. With LGBTQ+ people, plenty have found their livelihoods being compromised, yet some still hold fast that Trump is still “making America great again.” Oregon writer Heidi Briones has been very public about her Trump-supporting political stance and her lesbian sexuality. And even with Congress soon discussing whether same-sex marriage should be legal, Briones is knee-deep in copium.
Reddit’s r/agedlikemilk shared an image of the Oregon woman’s X post last year endorsing her vote for Trump, paired with her diss on trans people and Democrats. Beside her post, OP added another image of X political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen announcing how Congress is scheduled to possibly open up a case about undoing the legal rights of same-sex marriage, the relationship that Briones is currently in. Needless to say, this didn’t fly too well with the MAGA lesbian, and she began to cope hard.
“Hey morons… Still a nothing burger. Still has nothing to do with Trump,” she said, insulting those pointing out the compromise of her sexuality and political leaning. “Supreme Court supports gay marriage ๐ 6-3,” she added. “You are one seriously terrible ally,” responded one commenter. “These are levels of cope never before seen ๐,” added another. Reddit was no less savage in roasting the Trump supporter. “I want whatever she’s smoking. Must feel great being that detached from reality,” said one user. “I can’t imagine a more confused person than a gay Republican,” laughed a second.
While there’s nothing technically wrong with being gay and supporting a particular political leader, it’s a massive compromise for said LGBTQ+ voter’s identity. It’s like how transgender celebrity Caitlyn Jenner voted for Trump, and now, the President is fighting hard to ruin things for the trans community. Yet in Copeland, some people still prefer to remain delusional about their sunk cost fallacy in politics. It’s quite sad and pathetic when you think about it.
