NBA fans have been known to get a little rowdy from time to time, especially when their favorite players are involved. However, when this Oregon man tried to talk to Golden State Warriors star Buddy Hield, things got a little heated. In a TikTok video posted to the account @_pott3r503_, the altercation is shown, as the man was allegedly trying to talk to the NBA player for his son. The video now has around 923,000 views and 64,000 likes as it has officially reached viral status.
The TikTok begins with the action already underway as the man can be heard asking Buddy Hield not to curse around his child. The NBA star then can be heard saying “I don’t care,” while also throwing in some more vulgar language for good measure. In the video, Hield can be seen walking down the tunnel into the locker room when the Oregon man spoke up. A security guard is also standing right next to the man and can hear everything going on. As the NBA player walks away, the man yells, “Say that again, I got you on camera!”
TikTok Reacts to Oregon Man’s NBA Altercation
While the man seemingly did nothing wrong here from the original video, the comments were not on his side at all. “Buddy Hield doesn’t owe you anything,” wrote one. “You will NOT make us hate Buddy Hield!!!” stated another. Somebody else joked, “This is why we love Buddy Hield.” Finally, one other said, “This guy thought everyone was going to be on his side.” While it’s true the man shouldn’t have been bothering a player during the game, Buddy could have also just said hello.
The Oregon man would then make a follow-up TikTok regarding the incident. The video shows him talking to security as well. The TikTok begins with the man explaining that Buddy Hield had “Completely” ignored him and his son. However, he then states that he was talking a little bit of trash. This is seemingly what caused Hield to respond in the manner that he did. The man then complains to security, and they tell him there is nothing they can really do.
In the end, the Oregon man did not get the ending he was planning on. However, he did get his time in the spotlight of TikTok stardom. As for Buddy Hield, he has not responded to the incident as of yet. While Hield definitely could have handled the situation a little better, fans really shouldn’t be talking trash to players. Hopefully, they have learned a lot from this altercation and have moved on.
