People working in the service industry don’t get paid enough to deal with unruly customers. And unfortunately, it’s up to the wait staff to keep a lot of the restaurant moving (and hope a good tip is left). And what do they often get? Disrespect. One Oregon waitress shares on TikTok a terrible night with a miserable customer, which spirals out of control. Wouldn’t you know, alcohol was involved, too.
TikToker Dizzycowb0y opens up about the “worst serving night” she’s ever experienced as a waitress. It all started when a group of 15 people came in for service at the restaurant where she used to work. On top of that, Dizzy says the entire table was inebriated, like “they’ve been at bars all day.” After ordering drinks, the “birthday girl” at the table was extremely dissatisfied with her Margarita. According to Dizzy, the girl didn’t realize that margaritas come with salt, not sugar, as she expected.
Furthermore, the entire table had issues with their food. The crew worked diligently to correct all the food, make modifications on the stuff that apparently wasn’t right, and re-serve everyone. After that, the picky eaters sat and enjoyed their food in peace. But when it was time to check out, it couldn’t come without some drama.
When this waitress brought the check over to the person who told her he was paying for the table, they decided to split the check amongst themselves instead. She then had to separate the checks into 15, with a tab of nearly $700. Just creating extra work, right?
As the waitress struggled to split the check, the man who initially said he was paying for everybody started berating her. He told her, “This is the worst service ever! You can’t even split a check?”
In the end, they claimed they were dissatisfied and had hundreds of dollars’ worth of drinks comped that they didn’t have to pay for. The waitress made an astounding $0 on the entire table. Great night. To make matters worse, someone at the table called the restaurant the next day to complain about them. Dizzy was then fired.
One commenter demanded, “FIRED? For doing your job?” And how did they get out of paying for their drinks?
Another pointed out, “Ugh, if only management stuck up for us more. The guest isn’t always right. You didn’t deserve to get fired.” It sounds like a blessing in disguise, though it probably didn’t feel that way at first.
