The 60th time’s the charm with Warframe, especially with its 60th character or Warframe. This time around, you’ll be playing David Bowie— er, Temple, whose main schtick is being a rockstar while burning enemies with his sick guitar riffs. Of course, you want to be cool while doing that, and a proper Temple Warframe build guide ought to help. This one’s also viable for Steel Path and is thankfully simple.
A Hot Temple Build in Warframe
Like most of the latest Warframes added to the game, Temple comes with a nifty survivability skill or ability. Temple’s abilities also revolve around Heat, meaning you can take advantage of other elements to make your Heat procs more powerful. That very well means we can build around that. With that in mind, here’s the build.
Mod List
Mod Name | Effect | Alternative |
Mecha Empowered (Aura) | Squad deals +150% extra Damage against a Marked Enemy | Growing Power or Corrosive Projection (for armor strip) |
Cunning Drift | +12% Slide -30% Friction +15% Ability Range | Power Drift or Rush |
Archon Vitality | +100% Health Status Effects from abilities that deal Heat Damage will be applied twice. | Regular Vitality, but that’s a DPS loss |
Constitution | +40% Faster Knockdown Recovery +28% Ability Duration General Information Type Warframe | Keep in mind that 60 seconds is the max Duration for the 3rd Ability, so feel free to replace this once you’ve reached that. |
Transient Fortitude | +55% Ability Strength -27.5% Ability Duration | None |
Primed Continuity | +55% Ability Duration | Regular Continuity (weaker) |
Primed Flow | +185% Energy Max | Regular Flow (weaker) |
Precision Intensify | +90% Ability Strength for your 4th Ability | Regular/Umbral Intensify or Blind Rage/Transient Fortitude |
Blind Rage | +99% Ability Strength -55% Ability Efficiency | Intensify or Augur Secrets if you have trouble with Energy |
Equilibrium | Health pickups give +110% Energy. Energy pickups give +110% Health. | Rolling Guard for added survivability in case you run out of Energy. |
Of course, Orokin Reactor is a must. You will need to get used to monitoring the timing of your 3rd ability’s Invulnerability as it runs for a short duration. It’s great for shield-gating, however. The good news is that Invulnerability in Warframe makes you immune to knockdowns, freeing up slots that would otherwise be used by Primed Sure Footed.
The build is not cheap but should be manageable even for intermediate players since using the mod alternatives won’t make the build any less viable for Steel Path, as long as you can maintain your Energy.
Arcanes for the Temple Build
The bad news for newbies is that Temple is a “mage” Warframe and lots of his abilities are active and need to be spammed so you can get the most out of his 4th Ability which is where the bulk of your damage might come from.
So taking that into consideration, consider these Arcanes:
- Molt Augmented – It’s practically a standard and must-have for most endgame Waframe builds these days and Temple is no exception. You can obtain it from the Zariman region and syndicate.
- Arcane Energize – This expensive Arcane might just allow you to drop the Equilibrium mod or even Archon Stretch. Starting Rank 3, this Arcane will solve most of your Energy problems in Warframe.
Archon Shards for the Temple Build
Temple being a mage or caster Warframe means you need to cut down his casting animations. At the same time, you’re also going to need several Crimson Archon Shards to bolster his ability Strength.
We recommend going with the standard combo:
- 2x Amber Archon Shards (Casting Speed & Energy Orb Efficiency)
- 5x or 3x Crimson Archon Shards (Strength)
It goes without saying that Tauforged variants are better. One Tauforged Amber Archon Shard might even let you drop the Equilibrium mod as it could help immensely with Energy generation.
Playstyle for the Warframe Temple Build
As we stated earlier, this is a bit of a caster Warframe. Mind you, the Ability spamming is a bit costly, so you’re going to have to be active in your playstyle combined with Arcane Energize for Steel Path.
The good news is that while Temple casts a lot of abilities, his passive ability lets you reduce the cost of the active abilities if you time their activation to the Backbeat. Hence, keeping the Backbeat in mind is the optimal way to play, along with this simple rotation:
- Use the 3rd Ability, and try to time the cast with the Backbeat.
- Activate the 2nd Ability for crits.
- Use the 1st in sync with the Backbeat until the Backbeat metronome is full.
- Replenish the 3rd Ability if you’re in trouble– ideally in sync with the Backbeat, once its timer runs out. If you can’t sync it, don’t worry– prioritize your Invulnerability.
- Activate the 4th Ability once the Backbeat metronome is full, change the element type to Cold, and kill as many enemies as you can.
- Use the 1st or 2nd interchangeably to proc Heat status effects before attacking enemies with Viral damage (aim) from your 4th Ability.
- Alternatively, you can blast enemies with Heat damage from the 4th Ability (normal attack) and select the Viral damage (aim).
- Repeat the rotation until you can build up the meter for the 4th Ability again.
The idea behind using the Viral element for the 4th Ability is to reduce enemy HP, making your Heat damage-over-time more potent. Because your enemies will be stricken with multiple and doubled Heat status effects (if you used Archon Vitality).
Also, do remember to pick up Energy Orbs. You won’t have to worry about anything as long as your Energy is topped up and you can rip enemies apart with your riffs quite effortlessly.
