It’s February, and that means love is in the air! Many of your favorite games are currently running their Valentine’s Day celebrations, including Overwatch 2. Activision Blizzard’s team-based FPS doesn’t just do in-game events but also a jokey text-based dating simulator called Loverwatch, similar to Dead by Daylight’s Hooked on You. Here’s how you can play the Loverwatch Dating Sim, romance your favorite Overwatch 2 characters, and reap the in-game rewards.
How to Play Loverwatch – Overwatch 2 Dating Sim
The Loverwatch Dating Sim is a separate web event from Overwatch 2’s Ultimate Valentine’s Event running from February 14 to February 28, 2023 — it is playable on the Loverwatch website instead, accessible from your PC browser. The game is available in six languages (Korean, Japanese, Spanish, German, French, and English), and you can change the language from the Settings menu.
In the game, you can choose to date either Genji or Mercy, and you need to make a good impression to win their affection or friendship.
Loverwatch Rewards
Unlock either Mercy or Genji’s good ending to obtain the “Genji’s Peace” and “Mercy’s Angel” Titles. There is also the “Cupid’s Kiss” intro for Hanzo, which can be obtained by unlocking the secret ending or purchasing the Cupid Hanzo bundle, which includes the skin, a weapon charm, a souvenir, a name card, and the highlight intro. And as an added bonus, unlocking the intro from the Loverwatch Dating Sim will reduce the price of the bundle!
Just be sure to log in to your Blizzard account on the Loverwatch website by clicking the top right corner to link your Loverwatch progress with your Overwatch 2 account.
Loverwatch Routes
There are no bad endings in Overwatch 2’s Loverwatch Dating Sim, but pick enough wrong answers, and you won’t be able to woo either Mercy or Genji. Below is the list of all the correct answers to obtain each character’s ending.
Mercy Route
First Date:
- Tell a joke at open mic.
- “Mercy, do you want to hear my favorite joke about the periodic table?” or “Why doesn’t the surgeon like operating on elbows?”
Second Date:
- You take a deep breath, nod, and look back at the menu.
- All answers are okay.
- What does being a hero feel like?
- “I need you, Angela”
Third Date:
- Her genius does not extend to the baristorial arts, if such a thing exists
- “Drink it enthusiastically” or “Let me make another pot. Yours smells like someone tortured coffee beans to death.”
- She blushes Pink Mercy pink.
- “Date. I’m Angela’s date” or “I’m just helping out Angela for the day”
Genji Route
First Date:
- Well? Say something! And remember, your choices will affect how he feels about you.
- “…I really like your outfit.”
- Tell a joke at open mic.
- “Tell a joke about ninjas” or “Tell a joke about cyborgs”
Second Date:
- In that case, what will you order for dinner?
- “Order off the kids menu” or “Order Genji’s favorite food”
- What do you do to cheer Genji up?
- “Reassure him” or “Hold his hand”
Third Date:
- What did you think of the hike?
- “It was worth it to be here with you.” or “It was a breeze.”
- Well… what do you think? Can one know their true self?
- “Yes, they can.” or “I’m not sure, but you can try.”
Secret Route
After completing both good endings for Mercy and Genji routes, open a New Game. You instead start a new Cupid Hanzo route. However, keep in mind that if you close the Loverwatch website after unlocking the Cupid Hanzo secret ending, you will lose progress and have to do the Mercy and Genji good routes again, so be sure to save your game first.
