“The world needs heroes” and Blizzard will be bringing new ways to battle with them with their most recent Closed Beta for Overwatch.
In their Overwatch Forum post by Jeff Kaplan, staff says that even though the game is delayed, that will mean more content for players. As per usual, Blizzard seems to be taking player feedback quite seriously and wants to make sure the game is tested as well as it can be in their Beta phase:
Without getting into specifics, we are working on a new game mode. And we’re very excited about it! And we have some great new maps to support it, too, but we need a little more time to get everything just right.
So fear not, it seems like the developers will be using their extra time wisely. The break in the Closed Beta action was originally meant to tweak and update the progression system, but now an extra few weeks brings new modes and maps as well.
The Overwatch Beta will be opening again in mid-February, but with no confirmed date as of yet. Blizzard continues to tweak the game (as any developer would with their betas) and has open threads where feedback and discussion can be had.
We’ll do our best to provide at least one week’s notice before we’re ready to get this beta party started again, so definitely keep an eye on our official channels.
How was your experience with Overwatch? Do you feel like new modes and maps are what were “missing” in the initial beta test?
