Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne‘s health continues to decline. At 75, the aging rocker is a frail former shell of the man he used to be. Over the years, the singer has become riddled with one serious health issue after the next, including Parkinson’s disease.
Ozzy’s son, Jack Osbourne, recently shared a video revealing his father’s daily struggles. In the background, Jack is heard coaching his father. According to Radar Online, Jack is whipping Ozzy into shape for an upcoming appearance at the fan convention Son of Monsterpalooza on October 12 and 13.
During a recent episode of his podcast series, The Madhouse Chronicles, Ozzy Osbourne admitted to his co-host, Billy Idol guitarist Billy Morrison, that he is ‘not completely sober.’ During the podcast episode titled Drugs and Sobriety, the two men discussed their past drug use and their issues with addiction.
When Morrison asked Ozzy Osbourne if he felt happier these days, Ozzy admitted to his friend, “Happier, but I’m not completely sober.”
Sharon Osbourne Keeps Watchful Eye On Ozzy Osbourne
For more than twenty years, Ozzy Osbourne has been battling Parkinson’s disease. The Crazy Train hitmaker was first diagnosed in 2003. However, he kept his disease a secret until 2020, when his health began to decline rapidly, forcing him to reveal his private battle.
Osbourne has also had spine issues since a 2019 accident and has undergone multiple surgeries. He has also had a tumor on his vertebrae, causing him to live with considerable pain daily.
While the singer admits that he is slowly creeping back into his bad habits, he also reveals that he has limited his drug use to marijuana. Despite using “weed from time to time,” he claims there are days when he is “tempted to return to stronger drugs.”
However, Ozzy says their wife, Sharon Osbourne, keeps a close watch on him. Osbourne said: “I am lucky my wife kicks my butt all the time, and she would make life so difficult. Even with marijuana, she will f***ing find it and get rid of it.”
Ozzy Osbourne knows how easy it would be for him to slip back into his past addictions. He also admits he tried enough ketamine “to spark him” after being offered the anesthetic at a surgery. Osbourne states, “I went to a doctor recently and started to have this ketamine. He put a tiny bit in me, but that was enough to spark me. That thing came back and weighted my brain.”
It is a dark path that Ozzy Osbourne says he doesn’t ever want to return to. However, during his health battles, there are days he often thinks about it. Luckily, he is thankful for his wife and family, who help to keep him grounded, even on his worst days.
