Legend says that once upon a time, Cantankerous Koi was a simple old man from whom the witch was so tired that she turned him into a fish, but this is only a story that will not help your search. Where To Find Cantankerous Koi in Palia

But since this fish lives only in the Ponds, you can not find it in each random body of water.
