Cerulean Cicada is one of the uncommon bugs you can find in Palia. However, you may not even know they exist until you start doing Accomplishments like Kilima and Bahari Bug Collector and Master Kilima and Bahari Bug Collector. For both of them, you will need this Cicada.
Luckily, it is no harder to catch than any other insect in the game. First, you need to get a Belt. You can get it from Auni by progressing through the story. This Belt contains Smoke Bombs that you can throw at the bugs to temporarily stun them. And once you’ve got them, all you have to do is find Cerulean Cicada in Palia and throw some Smoke Bombs at them. Then just pick up an insect to add to your collection.
Where To Find Cerulean Cicada in Palia
Like other Cicadas in Palia, Cerulean Cicada spawns on the trees. To be more precise, they live on large and medium Heartwood trees. However, these bugs also have a special schedule. Therefore, you should only hunt Cerulean Cicada between 3:00 am and 6:00 pm. It is also worth noting that Cerulean Cicada is found only in Bahari Bay.
You should look closely at the size and color of the Cicada. If it is large and white with blue wings, it is a Cerulean Cicada. If not, then most likely it is Bark Cicada, which is much less valuable. After that, take out the Smoke Bombs, and you will catch it.
