If you’re looking to reel in some cash or win a fast friend with some flashy fish, the Mutated Angler’s the way to go. This googly-eyed lantern fish isn’t your typical aquarium pet, but it’s still a desirable catch. Though fishing is a favorite way for many to pass the hours, you’re not likely to stumble upon the Mutated Angler by accident, especially if you stick to open waters. It takes a fisher with a discerning eye (and good hiking shoes) to hook this catch. Here’s how to find and catch a Mutated Angler in Palia.
Palia Mutated Angler Guide
(Updated on October 9, 2024 – updated intro, images, links, and format)
Mutated Angler is a Rare fish, which is both good and bad news. Its rarity makes it more difficult to find but greatly increases its value, making it a true prize if you can land one. It’s also needed for the Vault of the Wave Bundle. Here’s what you need to know to catch a Mutated Angler of your own:
- Level up your Fishing Skill and unlock a better rod
- Stock up on Worms, the Mutated Angler’s preferred bait
- You can get Worms from Worm Farms, the General Store, or Zeki’s Wondrous Machine
- Go to Pavel Mines to fish
- Be persistent; the Mutated Angler is Rare, so it can take a while to find and catch
As with other fish in Palia, the Quality version of the Mutated Angler is worth significantly more. Fortunately, this fish spawns at all times of day, so you won’t need to restrict yourself to night or evening fishing. As long as you’re fishing in a cave and have the right bait and rod, you stand a good chance of catching an Angler. Now someone get this runaway mutant back to Professor X.
