This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

As you travel through the colorful world of Palia, you will catch more than 80 unique species of fish, and finding each is not so easy. Every fish has a preferred habitat that you should look for and bait that you should use, and Midnight Paddlefish is no exception. As a Rare fish, Midnight Paddlefish can serve as an excellent source of income or a great gift for some NPCs living in the Palia world. Luckily, you can easily catch this fish if you visit the night coast of Kilima Village, and we are here to tell you all the helpful details.

As we said, Midnight Paddlefish lives exclusively in the Kilima Village region and swims closer to the shore only at night. The dark color of this fish resembles the starry night sky and serves as excellent natural camouflage. But for you, it almost doesn’t matter.

It is important to note that Midnight Paddlefish live only in freshwater coastal areas and sometimes swim into river channels or small lagoons. Simply put, this fish does not like standing water, so you should not look for it in the lakes in the northern part of Kilima Village. First, you should visit Fisherman’s Lagoon, the nearby coast, and also go fishing near Whispering Banks.

If you are unlucky, continue to cast your bait along the coast, visiting locations such as Remembrance Beach and Gillyfin Cove. However, do not forget to focus on the water ripples. It will not increase your chances of catching Midnight Paddlefish, but it will slightly increase your chance of getting a Quality catch.

How To Catch Midnight Paddlefish

Although Midnight Paddlefish can see in the dark, they are more attracted to brightly colored bait, so choose a Glow Worm before casting. This fact means that you will not be able to catch this fish until you reach at least fishing level 7. At this point, you can create Glow Worm on a specialized farm.

As for the fishing rod, you can use anything, from Makeshift Rod. Having a higher-level fishing rod will make fishing more comfortable but will not affect the chance of a rare drop.

How To Use Midnight Paddlefish in Palia

Being rare and valuable, Midnight Paddlefish has many uses in Palia:

  • Firstly, you can sell it for 185 or 277 Gold if you catch the Quality version.
  • Additionally, you can give this fish to some NPCs as a friendly gift.
  • In Elouisa’s case, you’ll have to catch the Midnight Paddlefish to complete the When We Were Young quest she gives you.
  • You can also use this fish for cooking, but selling it would be more profitable.
