This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

There’s a whole wide world of Pals out there in Palworld, but they won’t just follow you back to your base and start planting crops for you. If you want to capture and raise Pals, you’re going to need Pal Spheres, which means you’ll need some Paldium Fragments. Just like many Minecraft resources, these Fragments are useful for a variety of crafting projects, so you won’t be using them just for Pal Spheres. Once you know where to get Paldium, you’re one step closer to having the world at your command. Here’s what you need to know about how to get Pal Spheres and Paldium Fragments in Palworld.

Paldium Fragments aren’t difficult to get in Palworld. The hardest part is knowing where to look. It’s not that they’re hidden; the game simply doesn’t tell you what you’re looking for. Paldium Fragments are obtained by mining Paldium rocks. These rocks are easy to spot because they’re a mixture of gray and blue, and they twinkle, making them easy to see from a distance. There are Paldium rocks scattered all over the starting area, so if you don’t see any right away, just keep exploring.

Once you’ve found a rock you want to mine, you have a couple of options. If you don’t have a tool, you can just punch the rock, but mining that way is slow. The better choice is to craft a Stone Pickaxe. To do so, you’re going to need a Primitive Workbench. Once the workbench is made, you can craft a Stone Pickaxe using Stone x5 and Wood x5. With a Stone Pickaxe, you can mine Paldium Fragments much faster.

The Primitive Workbench is also where you’ll craft Pal Spheres. To do so you’ll need the following:

  • Paldium Fragment x1
  • Wood x3
  • Stone x3

The Primitive W0rkbench is a Level 1 technology, and the Pal Sphere is a Level 2 technology, so you’ll unlock both of them pretty much right away. In addition to mining Paldium Fragments and crafting Pal Spheres, you can also get them as loot drops while you explore Palworld, so keep an eye out. Because Pal Spheres only weigh 0.1, you can carry a huge number of them without over-encumbering yourself. Don’t hesitate to craft some. You never know what rare and exciting Pals you might stumble across.

Palworld is available for PC in early access.
