Sad news for fans of the series Paper Girls, it has been canceled after only one season. It was a comic series that Amazon Prime Video turned into a sci-fi series. Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang wrote the comic series with 30 issues. The streaming service has chosen to discontinue the series. Sofia Rosinksy, Camryn Jones, Riley Lai Nelet, and Fina Strazza played the main characters. The story follows four paper girls caught up in a war between time travelers. The comedian Ali Wong played the adult version of Lai Nelet’s character in the Amazon Prime Video sci-fi series. Rosinksy played Mac Coyle, Strazza played KJ Brandman, Lai Nelet played Erin Tieng, and Jones played Tiffany Quilkin. Good reviews did not save Paper Girls from being canceled. The adaptation had only one season to shine.
Rosinksy, Jones, Lai Nelet, and Strazza Can’t Continue Their Characters’ Stories
The Amazon Prime Video sci-fi series has a 90% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 88% audience score. Amazon Studios and Legendary Television were responsible for producing the adaptation. Sofia Rosinksy, Camryn Jones, Riley Lai Nelet, and Fina Strazza played their roles well. The now-canceled series Paper Girls cannot expand on the storylines of the characters like in the comics. It did not manage to get into Nielsen’s streaming rankings. Many other shows like LOTR: The Rings Of Power have taken the spotlight on the streaming service. Christopher C. Rogers, Stephany Folsom, Christopher Cantwell, Brian K. Vaughan, Cliff Chiang, Steven Prinz, and Plan B executive produced it. The Amazon Prime Video sci-fi series adapted it well, according to critics. Another streaming service could pick up the story where it left off. At least the series showed the talents of Rosinksy, Jones, Lai Nelet, and Strazza.
The unfortunate adventures of KJ, Erin, Tiffany, and Mac have come to a screeching halt. Just because Amazon canceled Paper Girls doesn’t mean it’s not worth watching. Watch the first and only season of Paper Girls on Amazon Prime Video.
