As video game engines continue to improve, so do the horror experiences that players can endure and enjoy. Paranormal Tales is a title that represents just that. Coming from developer Digital Cybercherries (the creative minds behind HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed) is a horror ride like no other. Set to be on Steam at some point in the future, Paranormal Tales has been teasing its terror for a few weeks now. The tease continues with a first-person look at a lonely house with a mysterious figure lurking about. We’ll touch upon it more below, but let’s check out what players can expect from this new horror game.
Paranormal Tales Ensures That You’re Alone with New Trailer
Back when viral videos were hitting the internet waves, bodycam footage was usually based on horror and action concepts. Today, police bodycam videos are being pushed to the media’s forefront of attention, but Digital Cybercherries is here to turn the tables. Their upcoming game, Paranormal Tales, places players in the first-person perspectives of victims, each filmed with bodycams, phones, and VHS cameras. It’s reminiscent of the Blair Witch horror, where first-person experiences are through rough footage. Evidently, hope and help are out the door; each tale ends in tragedy.
Paranormal Tales have previously released a trailer to get fans invested in the frightening fun. The new trailer, entitled The_Man_Downstairs.mp4, follows a terrified man in a lonesome house. Something is inducing fear, something he can’t fully recognize. It’s not until near the end of the footage that we catch a glimpse of the horror in the house. We’ve attached the trailer above.
The absolute dread that players will go through in Paranormal Tales is built with Unreal Engine 5. Graphics look superbly hyper-realistic, and the trailer merely shows pre-alpha gameplay; it’s not even done quite yet. We wonder just how insane we can get with the panic-inducing jumpscares in first-person with Unreal Engine 5.
At this time, Paranormal Tales does not have a release date or window. Development is still ongoing, as seen in the attached trailer for the game. For now, you can wishlist the title on Steam to stay up-to-date with further announcements and footage.
