Paris Hilton recounts Sexual Abuse At Boarding School
The 41-year-old gave horrifying details on how she was allegedly sexually abused at Utah’s Provo Canyon School. The details were in the New York Times article published on October 12th. Hilton claimed some staff members at the school forcefully performed “cervical exams” on girls.
As reported by Page Six, she claimed that late at night, she and some girls would be taken into a room for “medical exams,” She further alleged the staff members “would have us lay on the table and put their fingers inside of us.” The socialite stated she blocked out all those memories growing up. She continued that she can see it was sexual abuse looking back at it as an adult.
Hilton also took to Twitter to give more details. She wrote she was” forced to lie on a padded table.” Then forced to spread her legs for the cervical exam to be conducted. Hilton shared she was opening up about her experiences so she could heal.
What Did Paris Say Of Her Experience At Utah?
The House of Wax actress has opened up about her experiences at the school in the past. In 2020, she released a documentary called, This Is Paris. It was about her youth and traumatic experiences at the school. She shared they were forced to take medications. Their punishment was either being held down by restraints or put into solitary confinement for “20 hours a day.” Hilton shared she was having panic attacks and felt miserable.
In May, Hilton teamed up with Unsilenced.org and Breaking Code Silence to speak alongside 200 survivors. This was to advocate federal action against those facilities. She also worked with lawmakers to push legislation like, “Troubled Teen” Industry Law — SB127. The bill was to provide more government supervision of the Utah youth treatment centers.
The bill was signed in 2021. In May, Hilton went to Washington with lawmakers to show her support for the Federal Accountability for Congregate Care Act. It is intended at conducting further research on the alleged abuses at the facilities mentioned. Also to create a Youth in Congregate Care Bill of Rights.
