Paul Dano has given the fans a face reveal for his Riddler character in the upcoming The Batman film. During an interview with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America, Paul Dano discussed his process with the post-character cooldown from playing the Riddler, but he brought a special surprise with him as well.
The Riddler is Unveiled in The Batman
The interview commences with Michael Strahan asking Paul Dano how his sleep has been. The Riddler actor previously commented on having sleeping issues after finishing up production for The Batman.
However, it’s not as severe as some rumors are saying. He was honest in his response with clarity, saying:
I should clarify because sometimes these quotes take on a life of their own on the internet. But, yes, sometimes it’s a little hard to calm down from the day. But I think I mean that – and I’m curious if this holds up for you – more like an athlete, frankly, where you prepare your body and mind. When you have a big scene in a Batman film, it is game day, and you have to be at a certain temperature. And that temperature is not the temperature that I exist at in real life.”
Michael Strahan proceeds to compliment Paul Dano’s performance and compares it to the colorful Riddler costume Batman fans are more familiar with. To go for a more realistic approach, Dano used plastic wrapping to hide his character’s DNA in the film. But then the audience is rewarded with the cafe scene we’ve seen from the trailers.
Until then, Paul Dano’s face has been a mystery to us. But the extended clip finally opens the lid on this enigmatic character. You can view the clip right here, along with the interview with Good Morning America for The Batman. Just skip to 2:35 if you’re interested in seeing the clip. Albeit we all know what Paul Dano looks like, something is terrifying about this face reveal for the Riddler.
