Reality TV personality Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame is facing backlash online after personally praising Donald Trump as “maybe the best president ever” during a White House small business event on Monday in Washington DC. Because of his now-viral statements to the President, the former Pawn Stars star has become a magnet for controversy, with hordes of commenters online digging up his history.

Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars:
I'm a history buff and I know a lot about this White House thing and everything. Literally, he's gonna go down as maybe the best president ever. I love this guy. pic.twitter.com/Uxj91uraju

Harrison, best known for his role on the long-running show Pawn Stars, spoke at the Small Business Summit in Washington, DC, where he commended Trump’s economic policies and tax initiatives. Calling himself a “history buff,” Harrison told attendees that Trump’s presidency would be remembered favorably, adding, “I love this guy.”

The Las Vegas pawn shop owner specifically highlighted Trump-era tax cuts and provisions such as full depreciation benefits for businesses, saying the policies had directly helped his operations. He also took aim at former President Joe Biden, accusing his administration of portraying business owners as not paying their fair share.

“The last guy in office? [Biden] All we heard is that we were the evil people, we were the bad people,” claims Harrison. Later on, he referred to Trump as, “Literally, he’s gonna go down as maybe the best President ever.”

However, Harrison’s White House remarks quickly drew criticism across social media platforms, where users challenged both his assessment and his credibility. One widely shared comment mocked the statement, saying, “I know a guy who can fact check him,” while others questioned whether a reality TV figure was qualified to make sweeping historical judgments about presidential performance.

People Online Dug Up Harrison’s Dirt

In addition to the mockery referencing his own show, commenters were also quick to point out how Harrison had issues in the past with his marriages. One commenter on X even recalled, “Talk about history! If I were his friend, I would have stopped bringing a card around wedding number three,” referring to his four failed marriages.

Another commenter made fun of Harrison’s ironic penchant for spotting fakes while also cozying up with the Trump administration, “The same Rick Harrison who can spot a fake Rolex from across the room. The pawn shop guy spotted the genuine article when half of academia couldn’t.”

Others accused Harrison of shady business practices, particularly during his Pawn Stars stint. “The History Channel did not renew Pawn Stars. Why? The history of the stars have been in a lot of illegal trouble. Rick Harrison is a scammer along with the others in his family. You could say this is why he fits so well into Trump’s circle,” alleged one commenter.
