People will sometimes go to great lengths for promotions, and for one worker at the Lower Providence Community Library in Pennsylvania, even at the cost of physical safety and humiliation. In a reel shared on the library’s Instagram, a male volunteer does a trust with a librarian, who steps to the side right before the man reaches the floor. Needless to say, he lands with a thud, a painful yet consensual fall, but it doesn’t end there. The woman librarian then stomps on the man’s crotch before the video ends.
The point of the bizarre reel was that it was a commercial saying that even though you can’t trust everyone, you can trust Lower Providence Community Library. What people need to trust the library for is left in question, considering the librarian more or less assaulted and humiliated a random consenting man before the internet’s eyes. That said, many were bamboozled as to what the ‘real point’ of this promotion was.
“Im so confused how he agreed to this,” questions one commenter. Others chimed in in response, claiming that the man was “beaming” before he hit the ground. “yea im saying he definitely got what he wanted 😭,” says one user. “We do not kink shame in this house,” joked another. Dozens of other commenters quipped about what went down after his fall: “YOU STEPPED ON HIS BOOKMARK,” exclaims one individual. “Why did she step on his Dewey Decimals?” chuckles a second. “She stepped right on his library card,” laughs a third.
Bizarre commercial aside, the locals do appear to appreciate the Lower Providence Community Library, at least according to the few who left 5-star reviews of the place on Yelp. One claims that the employees are always helpful, and in this reel’s case, they appear to be rather quirky as well. Besides the weird skit, hopefully, the male worker or volunteer didn’t endure any long-term injuries from his stunt, even if it was for the sake of the library’s trustworthiness.
