Shopping alone can be overwhelming at times. However, for this Pennsylvania shopper, his trip to the store would turn into a comedic video to post on TikTok. David Shane is a Pennsylvania native who makes time for helping those around him. He then posts some of the interactions on his social media account for the internet to see. Although this time, David may have finally met his match with his encounter with an elderly woman inside Walmart.
The TikTok begins with the Pennsylvania man walking up behind an elderly woman in a mobility scooter. The woman doesn’t appear to have many items in her cart, as she most likely just had to run into the store really fast. However, viewers quickly learn that the woman is looking for a cashier. “Where are all the cashiers?” she can be heard asking in the video.
Pennsylvania Man Helps Elderly Woman at Walmart
David would then ask the woman to follow him as she looked noticeably annoyed by the situation. The elderly woman makes it very clear that she does not want to use the self-checkout stations. Although when David claims he will scan her items for her at the station, she refuses. The video’s comment section took a turn against the woman after this, though. One even called her a “Grouchy old bag.”
The Pennsylvania TikToker would then ask the elderly woman if she knew what he did every day. He would then explain that he “Helps people.” David would continue by stating, “I help people because we all need help sometimes.” The man then tells the woman he will take her to register 18 to get her groceries paid for. However, there is a small line at the destination. David then asked if that was okay, and the woman responded by asking, “What choice do I have?”
Despite the small bits of attitude the Pennsylvania man received while attempting to help this Walmart’s elderly woman, it seems as though everyone had a happy ending. The TikTok video has officially gone viral since being posted, with over 600,000 views. David also laughed off the woman’s attitude with a funny joke in the post’s caption. “She’s on lap 87 in the Daytona 500,” he writes.
The TikTok video ends with David walking away after the elderly woman from Pennsylvania tells him, “Thank you, and have a nice day.” While everyone needs help sometimes, most may be scared to ask for it. Luckily, David got the job done no problem, and everyone went on their way.
