In a single podcast appearance, Jon Gosselin compared his ex-wife to one of the most notorious YouTube parents ever convicted, then admitted he could not pick his own daughters out of a crowd.
The Pennsylvania father of eight took his war with Kate Gosselin to a new extreme on the Legally Goff Podcast, per Page Six, likening her to Ruby Franke, the Mormon parenting YouTuber convicted in 2023 of aggravated child abuse, and saying Kate should be in jail.
It is the steepest escalation yet from a man who spent October inching toward it. Last month, he told Entertainment Tonight: “She needs to stop.” Then he went further: “I don’t even think it’s suing. I think it’s just criminal charges. So, that’s up to the state.” Now, by Page Six’s account, he has dropped the hedging entirely.
The comparison is his alone. Kate has denied every allegation from their son Collin, 22, as unfounded, and no court has found anything against her. Collin accused her this fall of years of abuse in his memoir rollout, and Kate has answered critics on TikTok, insisting: “I visited EVERY single time the facility felt he was stable enough for a visit.” She has not publicly responded to Jon’s latest remarks.
The same interview produced a confession that landed harder than any accusation. Asked about twins Mady and Cara, now adults, Jon said he has photos of them but doubts he would know them in person: “I wouldn’t be able to pick them out in the street.” He said he has had almost no contact since they were 13. “I miss graduations. I miss proms,” he said, per TMZ. “I know nothing.“
He said he has not seen four of the sextuplets since around 2017 or 2018. He blames Kate for the estrangement, saying she led the children to believe he did not want to see them. That is his account, and Kate has not addressed it.
It is a jarring pairing: the loudest voice demanding prison for the mother is a father who says he cannot recognize two of their daughters. After Collin’s memoir and the statement from Colleen Conrad backing him, Jon just raised the temperature again.
The Family War Has a New Front
The most-liked clean reply aimed past both parents at the network: “TLC should be held accountable. It’s insane!” Another read his repeated offers of paperwork with unusual sympathy: “The fact John keeps saying he will send you (different documents) goes to show how much he is not used to being believed.” Collin’s memoir got an endorsement: “Colin’s book is soooo worth reading, hard to read but hard to put down.” And the gentlest voice asked for what nobody here has managed: “I pray for reunification for these kids.” The loudest replies wanted Kate charged. Those verdicts do not run here.
Nearly two decades after the cameras first came into that house, the fight is still being broadcast.
