The Phantom Thieves have become known the world over for stealing hearts, but with the Steam release of Persona 5 Strikers, they seem to have stolen a place on the Steam Top Sellers list last week. The spinoff of the original 2017 JRPG classic has managed to sneak in at number 10 on last week’s list, which is even more impressive when you consider the fact that the game hasn’t even been released yet. It’s hard to estimate just how many copies have been sold as of yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know once we get some concrete information.
In our review of Persona 5 Strikers, we thought it was a worthy follow-up to the original game, as it took the world and characters that have become so beloved in the three years since Persona 5 released on PS3 and PS4 and combined it with the signature action combat familiar to fans of the Dynasty Warriors series. We have a ton of guides up (thanks to Kenny Keelan) about nearly every aspect of Strikers, so if there’s something to be looked up, you can bet we’ve got that covered.
Persona 5 Strikers isn’t the first (and hopefully not the last) game in the acclaimed JRPG series to come to PC and Steam. Not too long ago now, Persona 4 Golden, a 2012 enhanced version of the original Persona 4 that was released all the way back in 2008, made its surprise jump to Steam, and people have been showing it some love, with an estimated sales figure north of 1 million copies. That’s a big exposure when you remember that Golden was originally only available on the not-really-successful PlayStation Vita handheld console.
Also featured on the Steam Top Sellers list was Valheim at the top, retaining its #1 position from last week’s list, and which, by all reports, has been doing very well for itself as of late.
