Atlus’ Chief Director of the Persona series, Kazuhiso Wada, made some comments in a recent interview that strongly hint at confirmation of the rumored Persona 2 and Persona 4 remakes that began to circle around the internet recently. Persona 3 Reload has been a massive success and, considering the most recent three games in the JRPG series are all available on modern systems now, many longtime fans have been asking for a port or remake of both the original game alongside Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment.
Persona 2 & 4 Remake Rumors
It was a recent interview with the Japanese publication Famitsu where Kazuhiso Wada made the statement that alludes to potential Persona 2 and Persona 4 remakes. The relevant piece of the interview in question was translated and posted to Reddit recently by u/GeoSaberF6. Wada’s comment was in response to a question from the interviewer about the sad news that Persona 3 Portable‘s FeMC, AKA the female playable character Kotone, will never be implemented into Persona 3 Reload.
As a reason for this decision, Wada stated, “We as the Persona team need to work on completely new titles in addition to remakes.” This is the first time Atlus has ever publicly addressed any future remakes that, previously, had only been rumored through the reputable leaker Midori. Midori claimed that remakes of both Persona 2 and Persona 4 exist at Atlus right now, although they failed to state whether both Persona 2 games are being remade or just the first entry Innocent Sin. Regardless, while this isn’t actually official confirmation that the rumor is entirely true, Kazuhiso Wada does appear to have at least partially confirmed that Atlus has another Persona remake on the way, and there will hopefully be more concrete information after the release of Persona 6.
