Phantasy Star Online 2, one of Japan’s biggest online action RPGs, finally has a release date for western PC players. You can expect to see the game hit western Windows 10 PCs on May 27. Fans of the game have been waiting for quite some time, so this release date is great news. The team took to their various social media to announce the news, and you can expect official details to come on the game’s site in the coming days.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is a really solid online action-RPG from the publishing team at SEGA. The game follows a player-created character as a member of the Artificial Relicit to Keep Species (ARKS) Cadet Program. A part of the Oracle space organization, you’re in your graduation exercise when you’re attacked by the Falspawn. They’re an evil alien organization looking to put an end to humanity, and your team is the only one that can stop them. You’ll battle across different planets and explore new regions as you take on Falspawn and save your race from extinction. Phantasy Star Online 2 is considered one of the best games to play in Japan, so this should take western hearts too.
Fans were incredibly excited when Phantasy Star Online 2 was announced for the west during E3 2019. It was announced to come to both Xbox One and PC and while it released to Xbox One, PC has been waiting for some time. It’s good to finally have that release date, and so soon as well. It already looks great, sporting some solid visuals and good gameplay given its original 2012 release date. How it’ll fair on Windows 10 PCs remains to be seen, but there’s faith that it’ll turn out well.
We hope you get the chance to jump into the game when it releases next week. What looks interesting to you about the game so far? Did you hear about it prior to its E3 announcement? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
