Today, Kinetic Games has announced Phasmophobia is getting delayed on consoles and PS VR2. After a recent announcement of the famous ghost-hunting game to arrive on new platforms, the developers have decided to push back the release. This is to focus on optimization and face other unforeseen challenges that popped up during the development of this port. While this is sad, many understand the reason behind this. It is always better to have a finished product rather than a buggy mess. The bad news is that there’s no new release date for the long-awaited console and PS VR2 port.

If you haven’t read it, the new announcement on the Steam page brings bittersweet news. While players would’ve loved to start hunting ghosts during the spooky season, most will have to stick to the PC version. Yes, this is sad for many. However, most understand this after the studio has suffered other delays. One of those being the one caused by a fire in their office. And while this is bad news, there’s something good for those playing the PC version. That’s right, if you’re still playing this title, the Halloween event 2023 is around the corner.

The event, as we can see on the official page, will task players with creating their potion. This will occur on the revamped Maple Lodge map. This area received a few tweaks to prepare for the console release, but PC players can enjoy the new additions to the map.

During the Halloween 2023 event, players must create a potion and finish other tasks; after that, they can get a new Trophy and ID badge for their collection, which is a great way to keep players around. So yes, while the news of Phasmophobia getting delayed on console and PS VR2 isn’t ideal, there’s still much to do. So, grab your crew and head to Maple Lodge for spooky fun.
