Phoenix Police Caught Wasting Their Budget Unnecessarily: ‘Ready to Go to War’

Was it worth it?

It’s completely normal to see police around. Sometimes they might be roaming the streets; other times, they’re checking up on houses because they received a call. When the latter happens, you imagine that the police would send two officers to find out what’s wrong. If the call required more officers, of course, they would send reinforcements. It’s simple. Phoenix police, however, didn’t get the memo. They were caught on camera in a neighborhood as they wasted their budget unnecessarily. When you first see them and how prepared they are, you would assume they’re going to war.

A Phoenix man shared a picture his camera caught of some members of the Phoenix police department outside his house. What makes this weird is that the officers had with them a dog, night vision goggles, and also AR-15 rifles. Not to mention that there was a helicopter as well. With that sort of firepower, one would assume that they are trying to catch a terrorist with all this preparation, but that’s not the case.

When the Phoenix man called the police station to find out what was going on, their response? Someone in the area had “suicidal ideation.” Why would they send all these officers and a helicopter just because someone had suicidal ideation? Didn’t they think that this would make the person in danger more terrified than assured? Plus, why waste all these resources?

People Reacting to the Phoenix Police’s Behavior

Almost everyone who saw what was happening believed that Phoenix police didn’t need to do all of this. Several people started joking about how this sight would terrify anyone, whether mentally stable or not. One person wrote, “911 caller: ‘Someone is talking about killing themselves.’ PHX PD: ‘Not if I kill them first!’” Another also joked about this as they said, “‘I used to be suicidal, but then some guys showed up in bullet proof vests and put AR-15s in my face and I felt all better!’ – Said no one ever.”

One Redditor pointed out how the police are wasting their budget by such behavior. “Reminder that Phoenix approved $22M for new tasers for police then 3 months later closed 2 schools and layed off 40 teachers due to $12M budget short.” They are right. This could have been spent on something more meaningful. Others also criticized the misuse of the police’s budget. “Phoenix PD takes HALF of the entire city budget. The rest of the government from public transit to health to fire to social services is left with the scraps,” one person wrote.

Someone else believed that such a scene could happen anywhere in the country. “The US is a police state; and almost every city is like this, with the cops taking all of our cities’ money, but most normies don’t realize it yet,” they added. What I want to know is, did they really manage to save anyone with this kind of exaggeration?
