Originally a Nintendo 3DS game released in 2014, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy includes Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations.
The newly announced game will feature English and Japanese language support. It also comes with updated graphics and sound design that better fit with their transition to the more modern consoles.
The first game in the series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney released in Japan for the Game Boy Advance in 2001. Four years later the series became available on the Nintendo DS, PC in 2008, and later on the Nintendo Wii and Apple in 2009.
The latest version of the visual novel game launched in 2016, Spirit of Justice, puts voice actor Same Riegal (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Critical Role, Duck Tales) as the voice of attorney Phoenix Wright. Judging from the trailer it sounds like he might also be lending his vocal cords to this iteration of the Ace Attorney as well. Hopefully, more information is announced soon.
There have been a total of six games released that follow the main story of the rookie defense attorney as he fights to uncover the truth of crimes.
The trailer did not give any further information about a possible release date other than the 2019 window. Fans will have to wait to find out what the overall plot of the upcoming courtroom drama is. The company did not make any announcements on their social media pages. Capcom mentioned they will release detailed information soon regarding the enhanced version of the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy series.
