Red Pikmin
Red Pikmin are more potent than most others and have fire resistance. They are good at combat and are the first type you meet in the game. They are instrumental against enemies with fire attacks. With their high attack power, they are your best option for any monster battle. You will find them at the Rescue Command Post at the very beginning of the game.
Blue Pikmin
This type can dive underwater and traverse water bodies. Also, they can attack any aquatic life, and they can save any others who are drawing in the water. You can unlock the Blue type by collecting Blue Onions at Sun-Speckled Terrace.
Yellow Pikmin
These are immune to electricity and can dig faster than others. Also, they can be thrown higher and are very useful when you get high up on anything, such as a palette or a treasure. You will get these yellow Pikmin once you unlock the Sun-Speckled Terrace area.
Purple Pikmin
Purple Pikmin packs a serious punch with the strength and weight of ten regular Pikmin combined. When thrown, they also create a powerful shockwave that can stun enemies in their path. However, their power comes at a cost, as they move slower than their counterparts.
Their incredible strength and resilience make them valuable assets in treacherous terrain or intense battles. They can endure strong wind, making them reliable companions on any adventure. You can throw a Pikmin to Violet Candypop Bud and get a Purple one.
White Pikmin
White Pikmin have impressive speed and agility, making them ideal for scouting ahead and quickly moving between locations. Additionally, they possess a unique defensive ability: when ingested by certain enemies, they unleash a potent toxin that causes significant damage.
However, their most impressive attribute is their ability to navigate hazardous environments easily. Thanks to their immunity to toxic substances, they can traverse areas inaccessible to other species. You can get these from Ivory Candypop Buds after completing the main campaign.
Rock Pikmin
Rock Pikmin is a fascinating addition to the game and can be unlocked at Blossoming Arcadia. These unique creatures possess a natural ability to break through glass and crystal barriers, making them invaluable allies when navigating through challenging environments. However, their immunity to stomp and trample attacks makes them particularly noteworthy, allowing them to withstand some of the most punishing obstacles possible.
Winged Pikmin
These little creatures are unlocked in the Serene Shores and offer unique skills that are handy during gameplay. Their ability to fly above most obstacles is a definite advantage when navigating rugged terrain. Additionally, they excel in aerial combat, making them a valuable asset in battles against airborne enemies.
Ice Pikmin
These frosty creatures can freeze enemies and bodies of water, opening up new possibilities for exploration and strategy. They are found in the Sun-Speckled Terrace and hidden in the depths of cave sub-levels.
Glow Pikmin
Glow Pikmin are found in the Sun-Speckled Terrace. Interestingly, these creatures have a unique attribute – they are immune to fire, water, electricity, and poison, making them an essential asset to any efficient team.
However, these cannot be brought to bright locations, as their luminous bodies can be easily overwhelmed. Additionally, they can form a ball of light that stuns enemies, giving your team an advantage in combat. If you want to add them to your inventory, watch for glow pellets during night expeditions. These are the key to unlocking this extraordinary creature.
