In Pikmin 4, you can rescue the fifth lost recruit in the Hectic Hollow level. Although it is pretty easy to spot his location, rescuing him is another thing entirely. You might have to rack your brain a bit in order to clear this puzzle. Interestingly, you do not have to send out any Pikmin to reach him. This guide will tell you how you can rescue the Pikmin 4 recruit.

What You Need to Rescue the Recruit in Pikmin 4 Hectic Hollow

To rescue the Hectic Hollow Recruit in Pikmin 4, you will need to utilize Oatchi’s Rush skill. You might be thinking about using Yellow Pikmin since they have increased throw height. However, even the Yellow ones will not be able to reach the lost recruit. Instead, you will have to use your head — or Oatchi’s head, to be precise.

The recruit can be found at the end of the Hectic Hollows before you finish the Pikmin 4 level. He can be seen laying on top of a pretty tall gray tin can. Oatchi’s Rush abilities don’t just stun enemies and destroy dirt walls but also knock down items from high-up places. With that in mind, you will want to ride the Rescue Pup and ram the tin can to drop the recruit down.

  1. Ride Oatchi by pressing X.
  2. Hold down the X button to charge Rush.
  3. Aim at the tin can.
  4. Once the Rush has been fully charged, release the X button.

Oatchi will ram the tin can, making the unconscious Pikmin 4 Hectic Hollows recruit fall into the ground. Aside from solving puzzles, using the Rush attack is a good way to damage and stun enemies! Command at least three Pikmin to carry him to the end of the level. Collin will check his ID and inform you that his name is Dingo, a solo mission officer. Erma Shepherd will add that he is an excellent officer even if he cannot use the Rescue Pup.

That is how you can rescue the Pikmin 4 Hectic Hollow recruit, Dingo. Once rescued, he can help you complete Dandori Battles and Dandori Challenges when you fail. Simply select the Help option when you are on the retry screen.
