A few hours ago, Twitter user flom and Jordan Gilbert reported that they already got their hands on Counter Strike 2’s Limited Test, which you can check out here. The Official Counter Strike 2 page on Twitter states that players will be selected depending on their Account Standing, Playtime, and other various metrics.
Players are selected for the Counter Strike 2 Limited Test Gameplay based on a number of factors deemed important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing. – Counter Strike 2 Twitter
And before you know it, gameplay footage of Counter Strike 2 is already made it to the internet, and it looks darn good. The volumetric smokes and shadows look amazing, and they’re going to certainly turn the tides in the competitive scene.
Woah, these smoke changes look wild. I’m assuming old school players are going to push back to a certain degree with change, but it’ll be interesting to see what is embraced/what new metas are possible as play time happens. Jordan Gilbert via Twitter
But what will old-school veterans think about these Counter Strike 2 changes? And how will this affect the CS landscape? Surprisingly, the overall community response has been pretty positive across the board, but there’s still time for the hype and rose-colored glasses to wear off.
So what do you think of Counter Strike 2’s Test Gameplay so far? Are you a fan of the new, or would you rather play old-school CS? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and stay tuned for more updates on the NerdStash!
