Ahead of the holiday season, both Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X are on everyone’s minds. While Microsoft seemed excited to announce a release, Sony appears to be waiting some time to announce it. With the holiday season fast approaching, it’s time for the PlayStation 5 to have a release date as well. That release date isn’t the only thing to announce though, as more details are sure to come for the PS5. This Wednesday fans will surely be in for a show.
What to Expect from Sony’s PlayStation 5 Showcase
On the heels of Microsoft’s announcement, Sony is showing off the PS5 on Wednesday, September 16th. What they’ll be showing is a mystery right now, but fans are taking to speculation regarding various games or hardware news. The showcase will run for about 40 minutes in total, so there’s sure to be something other than the release date. Chances are there’ll be announcements regarding games releasing at the console’s launch, but perhaps there’ll be announcements of future titles?
Marvel’s Spider-Man was a huge success on the PS4. Along with the release of the PS5, many are expecting to hear of the web slinger’s next installment. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is likely to be part of the next-gen console’s showcase this week. With the title being announced for this holiday, there’s no doubt we’ll be getting it with the console’s launch or a short time after. There is also some speculation that the Demon’s Souls Remaster will be part of the showcase, though take that with a grain of salt.
Reports on the PS5’s price suggest it will sell for $499. The Digital Edition of the console is expected to sell at $399. The release date for both, if the accessories’ release date is any indication, is November 19th.
