It’s not been as well-received as competing services like Xbox Game Pass, but Sony’s PlayStation Now streaming service has quietly been strengthening its lineup of well-over 700+ games from PS2, PS3, and PS4. There’s a ton to play, and a lot of it is pretty good, which has only been strengthened by the incoming drop of games Sony is adding to the service in December. The biggest title to join PlayStation Now this month is easily one of the best games of the last generation – Horizon Zero Dawn.

The PS4 exclusive developed by Guerilla Games was one of many strong titles to come out during 2017 (what a year that was for great games, eh?), and now people who didn’t pick it up originally will get the complete edition – including follow-up DLC The Frozen Wilds – as part of the offering on PS Now. An even bigger bonus is that unlike previous Sony exclusives like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Persona 5, Horizon is here to stay so players can take their time with the game – there’s a lot to discover.

It’s joined by some pretty decent friends, including Wreckfest (the only limited-time game in this month’s lineup), a fun demolition derby style game where racing etiquette goes out the window, and Broforce, a 2D throwback to arcade games of yesteryear with a strong emphasis on classic 80’s/90’s action movies and the stars that gained fame from them. The Surge 2, Stranded Deep, and Darksiders 3 complete December’s additions, and on the whole, while there isn’t anything hot off the press like what Microsoft can offer with Game Pass, it never hurts to add decent games to paying subscribers, and that’s exactly what PlayStation Now has gained.

Like previously mentioned, all but one of these games are permanent (or as permanent as you can get with a live service), with Wreckfest leaving PS Now on May 31, 2021.

With all the attention that Game Pass gets, PlayStation Now is more understated, but the potential is there for Sony to do more to raise its profile. Will they? Let us know below if you are a fan of the Horizon Zero Dawn game.

When I'm not researching games to potentially add to an ever-growing backlog of games I've never finished, I'm scouting the next wonderkid on Football Manager, or adding my 180th hour to my Persona 5 completionist run. Likes games, and likes talking about them. Surprise, right?
