A leaked announcement came across the wire early on Tuesday, as a Twitter post by Project CARS unveiled a new eSports league and venue for Playstation games. Playstation Plus League has since been confirmed by numerous sources, and will be officially rolled out with tournaments and competitions taking place at Paris Game Week from October 28th-November 1st.
Sony and Playstation’s new platform will support nine games, ranging from shooters to racing, sports and, of course, everything in between. Rocket League, for instance. The full list includes Project Cars, Rocket League, Battlefield Hardline, Ultra Street Fighter IV, FIFA 16, DriveClub, Mortal Kombat X, Trials Fusion, and Pro Evo Soccer 2016.
The early announcement comes just hours before Sony and Playstation held their press conference at Paris Games Week. Flipping through the french language website, there are numerous posts and items hinting at a continual, year-round schedule and tournaments incoming. These appear to have a similar standing to the Heroes of the Storm, DOTA and League of Legends schedules we’ve gotten used to in the eSports world.
Look for Playstation Plus League to begin in just days.
