Although it looks really non-threatening, Manaphy is one of the extremely rare Legendary Pokemon, and you can only get its Egg through the time-limited Mystery Gift system. In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Manaphy seems to be linked with Phione, but you might be wondering if Manaphy can evolve to another Pokemon or not…
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: Manaphy Evolution
If you’re looking to evolve Manaphy to another Pokemon in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, unfortunately, Manaphy does not have any evolution. Interestingly though, if you breed a Manaphy with a Ditto, it will still spawn an Egg that contains Phione. While they look similar, Phione cannot evolve into Manaphy, although it can still be bred to produce more Phione Eggs. This marked Manaphy to be the first and only Legendary Pokemon that can breed (and gives birth to a completely different Pokemon).
Despite lacking any evolutionary lines, when combined with Rest and rain-inflicting moves from tougher Pokemon like Palkia or Kyogre, Manaphy’s unique Ability Hydration can easily mess up opponents’ strategy. Since it will allow Manaphy to instantly heal itself and eliminate any status ailment, which nearly no other Pokemon can do. Read on below for more details about Manaphy.
