Shieldon is a dual-type Rock/Steel Fossil Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl exclusive to Shining Pearl, meaning Brilliant Diamond users must trade to obtain it. If players wish to catch Shieldon, they will need to make their way to the Great Underground region in Sinnoh. Within the area’s tunnels, players may notice a small shining light that will randomly appear on the walls. Trainers can mine these nodes to eventually find an Armor Fossil. If they take the fossil to Oreburgh City and turn it in at the Mining Museum, they will receive a Shieldon Pokémon. Next, players must have the Shieldon reach a specific level to evolve in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl.
How to Evolve Shieldon in Pokémon BDSP
To evolve Shieldon into Bastiodon in Pokémon BDSP, trainers will need to attain Level 30 for the Pokémon. Bastiodon is equipped with Sturdy, permitting it to survive fatal attacks and prevent One-Hit-KO moves. The Pokémon also has the Hidden-Ability Soundproof, granting immunity to all sound-based attacks.

Leveling Shieldon to 30 will take a bit of grinding, but there are a few methods in Pokémon BDSP that can help speed up the process. For instance, the Lucky Egg will increase the XP gain from battles by 50% for the Pokémon holding it. While the Lucky Egg is a rare find in Sinnoh, there are some spots where the egg is guaranteed to spawn.
One such place is at Acuity Lakefront within the Grand Underground. Alternatively, one could win a Lucky Egg from the possible prizes from Loto-ID in Jubilife City. The Battle Tower shop also sells Lucky Eggs for 77 BP each. Lastly, players also have a chance of obtaining a Lucky Egg when capturing a Chancey Pokémon. After using the Lucky Egg to level Shieldon to 30, players can evolve the Pokémon into Bastiodon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl are available on Nintendo Switch.
