Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl: How to Get the Digger Drill
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

Making your own Secret Base in the Grand Underground is one of the returning features in the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remake. However, you will first need to find an item called Digger Drill to be able to make one. Here’s where you can find and get Digger Drill in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: Digger Drill Location

To get yourself a Digger Drill, you need to talk to the Underground Man in Eterna City, the same guy who gives you the Explorer’s Kit to enter the Grand Underground. He resides in a house with a yellow roof right next to the city’s Pokemon Center. After getting the Explorer’s Kit, go explore the Grand Underground for a bit, then return to him. The Underground Man will then say something about “hidden things” and ask you to find some treasure in the Grand Underground. Go back to the Grand Underground, check the radar for yellow spots in the walls, and then press A in front of it to play the mining minigame and dig treasures up.

Once you got any kind of treasure like a Gem or Sphere, talk with the Underground Man again. He will give you the Digger Drill. Digger Drill is used to dig up walls in the Grand Underground and make a Secret Base where you can put Pokemon Statues that affects Pokemon Hideaway spawns. But a Digger Drill can only be used once. To get more you need to find Hikers in the Grand Underground that offers 1 Digger Drill for eight Blue Spheres. YouTuber Pokemon Archive has made a Grand Underground map with the location of all Hikers available in there, check the video below.
