Pokémon Go’s February events include Team GO Rocket, tornadus, woobats, a Valentine’s Day celebration, and much more.

To help kick off the month, Niantic is releasing woobat on February 1, and they say there’s a specific reason the bat Pokémon is out now.  Each one will also come with a bonus woobat candies.

Can you guess why it’s making its debut in February, the month of love? Well, look no further than its cute nose! This Psychic- and Flying-type Pokémon uses the suction from its nose to stick to cave walls as it sleeps. The heart-shaped mark it leaves on skin is said to bring good fortune, so we hope an encounter with Woobat will bring you not only good luck but also a new friend!”

Woobats will fly away on March 1.

Shadow Raikou

Trainers who have completed the most recent Team GO Rocket Special Research will gain access to new research. The save shadow raikou from Giovanni event lasts all month long, and professor Willow will have more research options as well.

Tornadus

From February 4 through the 25, tornadus will be featured in five-star raids. It’s the first time the cyclone Pokémon will be included in the game as well.

Sinnoh Region

Niantic is also adding a Sinnoh region event starting February 7 and running through the 10. Sinnoh region Pokémon will appear more often around the world in both raids and the wild. Plus, all 7km eggs found during the event will hatch specific Pokémon only found in Sinnoh. Players are also more likely to run into shiny riolu or hippopotas.

Valentine’s Day

Beginning on February 14, up through the 17, trainers will discover more pink-colored Pokémon in raids, the wild, and in eggs. Niantic is also adding audino and alomomola to the Pokédex as well, but finding them is rare.

The Pokémon GO team will also release two other events called Pokémon Spotlight Hour and Mystery Bonus Hour.

Spotlight Hour will spawn a random Pokémon more frequently in the wild on the fourth from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. While the Mystery Bonus Hour will feature a random bonus.

Other events will boost friendship levels for a time, increase trade candy, reduce stardust cost, and impact how many gifts you can trade.

The developers teased they are working on other surprises for February as well but didn’t say what they were.
