This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Even though the classic version of Samurott has been available in the Pokemon Go world since 2019 and has visited raid gyms more than once, its Hisuian version has remained the cherished desire of many trainers until recently. Fortunately, it has finally arrived and every trainer can catch it (and its shiny version) by visiting a 3-star raid during Hisuian Samurott Raid Day. The themed raid day will take place on December 2, 2023, from 2 to 5 PM Local Time. Since Hisuian Samurott is a 3-star raid boss, defeating it in Pokemon Go isn’t the most difficult fight, but knowing all the weaknesses and best counters will help you in battle.

Being a Water and Dark-type Pokemon, Hisuian Samurott is a relatively resilient pocket monster and does not have any extremely effective weaknesses. On the other hand, it is weak against Bug, Electric, Fairy, Fighting, and Grass types, which deal moderately increased damage. With this data, you can create your own counters team based on your Pokemon collection. But if you are looking for the best counters to defeat Hisuian Samurott in Pokemon Go, you should pay attention to the following Pokemon:

  • Sceptile: Fury Cutter, Frenzy Plant.
  • Terrakion: Double Kick, Sacred Sword.
  • Kartana: Razor Leaf, Leaf Blade.
  • Gardevoir: Charm, Dazzling Gleam.
  • Rayquaza: Dragon Tail, Dragon Ascent.
  • Raikou: Thunder Shock, Wild Charge.
  • Magnezone: Spark, Wild Charge.
  • Electivire: Thunder Shock, Wild Charge.
  • Machamp: Counter, Dynamic Punch.
  • Zapdos: Thunder Shock, Thunderbolt.
  • Sceptile: Fury Cutter, Frenzy Plant.

Tips To Beat Hisuian Samurott

We understand that not every trainer has such an extensive collection of Pokemon. Therefore, we have a few tips that will help you defeat this 3-star boss with minimal effort:

  • Firstly, if you are a beginner player, try to assemble a team of at least three players. It will allow you to resist the boss with not quality but quantity.
  • Secondly, if you don’t have the Pokemon from our list above, choose your pocket monsters that have the same movesets. Hisuian Samurott is weak against specific elemental types of attacks, and having a powerful carrier of these attacks is an advantage but not the basis for victory.
  • In addition to the other tips, never use Pokemon with Psychic, Dark, Fire, Ghost, Ice, Steel, and Water-type attacks. This boss has resistance to these elements, and Psychic-type attacks are almost useless.
  • Finally, choose fighters based on the weaknesses of the raid boss. Hisuian Samurott has excellent Attack (218) and Stamina (207), but his Defense is low (152). You are unlikely to be able to play a long battle as the boss will quickly destroy you. Thus, give preference to Pokemon with strong charged attacks of those types against which the boss is weak and defeats it faster than it kills you.

Hisuian Samurott’s Moveset

In addition to all of the above, knowing all the boss’s movesets will be helpful to any player. Experienced players will be able to find out in advance about all the attacks of the Pokemon they will receive after victory. This knowledge will determine its usefulness in battles as a personal pocket monster. As for beginners, knowing the types of boss attacks will allow you to choose the best fighters. If your Pokemon can’t deal maximum damage to the boss, at least some of the pocket monsters won’t take increased damage from its attacks.

Fast Moves

  • Snarl (Dark)
  • Fury Cutter (Bug)
  • Waterfall (Water)

Charged Moves

  • Razor Shell (Water)
  • Dark Pulse (Dark)
  • X-Scissor (Bug)
  • Icy Wind (Ice)
