Do you want to know how to catch Scatterbug in Pokemon Go? Part of the Pokemon franchise, this augmented reality mobile game offers some unique tasks and even more unique Pokemon.

These Pocket monsters hide in the wilderness across the globe, and your goal is to catch them all in your Pokedex. Scatterbug has just been added to Pokemon Go with the winter holiday event. It is a Bug-type Pokémon from the Kalos region. Catching it in Pokemon Go is a bit tricky. However, this guide will show you how to catch Scatterbug in Pokemon Go.

How to Catch Scatterbug in Pokemon Go?

Sorry for this. You can only catch Scatterbug in Pokemon Go if you have friends scattered around the world.

To further elaborate on this, you need to pin the postcards from different locations from the gifts you get from your friends, and you will be able to catch Scatterbug. Open your friend list and click on an unopened gift. You will get a pin behind the postcard before you open it.

When you pin your first postcard, you will receive the Vivillon Collector Medal and a step closer to catching Scatterbug in Pokemon Go. You can access the medal through the general medal section. Scroll down your avatar page, and you will find the collectors medal.

Once you get three pins from one region, one Scatterbug with a matching pattern from the region will spawn in the overworld when you leave your friends list. Each time you pin a Postcard from a particular region, you will make progress in encountering Scatterbug.

Luckily, there are 18 patterns, so you have enough options to find friends and exchange gifts for a Scatterbug:

  • Archipelago
  • Continental
  • Elegant
  • Garden
  • High Plains
  • Icy Snow
  • Jungle
  • Marine
  • Meadow
  • Modern
  • Monsoon
  • Ocean
  • Polar
  • River
  • Sandstorm
  • Savanna
  • Sun
  • Tundra

For now, this is the only way to catch Scatterbug in Pokemon Go.

This unique bug-type Pokemon has two possible evolutions, Spewpa and Vivillon. So, go and make friends with people from around the globe to get your hands on Scatterbug in Pokemon Go.

Pokemon GO is available on iOS and Android.
