Pokemon Legends: Arceus is the first time the series adopts a real-time, open-world formula. Like other open-world titles, there are a lot of Side Quests to do in the game. Most are pretty straightforward, while some of them might need a bit of sleuthing to complete. One of those harder ones is the “An Elegant Tail” Request, and here’s how you can solve that particular Pokemon Legends: Arceus Side Quest.
“An Elegant Tail” Request Side Quest
- Request #41.
- Quest Giver: Asabei, in Jublilife Village.
- Rewards: Aux Evasion x2 and Grit Gravel x2.
Somewhere along your journey in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the NPC Asabei, will give you the “An Elegant Tail” Request. To complete it, you have to show Asabei a Pokemon with a tail that’s “elegant and swirly like a spring.” Since it’s all the hint that he can give you, we have to sniff out this Pokemon ourselves. Well, you are a Pokemon Researcher; after all, this shouldn’t be too hard.
Obviously, the answer can already be seen above. But let’s break down Asabei’s hint, shall we? He asked for a Pokemon with a spring-like tail. There aren’t many Pokemon with tails that can be described as a “spring”; the best guesses are Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu, Glameow, and maybe Gligar. However, Pikachu’s evolutionary line and Gligar have never been called “elegant,” and their tails are not swirly. Glameow’s Pokedex entry in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire meanwhile stated its elegance,
“When it’s happy, Glameow demonstrates beautiful movements of its tail, like a dancing ribbon.”
With that in mind, we now know that Asabei is looking for a Glameow. You don’t have to catch another one if you already have it, since Asabei will return it to you once shown. Simply show the Glameow to Asabei, and you will get Aux Evasion (temporarily increase Evasion) and Grit Gravel (permanently increase EV of one stat) as Request rewards. But in case you haven’t, here are the two locations where Glameows are usually seen:
- Glacier Terrace, Alabaster Icelands.
- Veilstone Cape, Cobalt Coastlands.
Keep in mind that Glameows are shy and run away easily. You might need to sneak up on them or lure them out with Plump Beans, Hearty Grains, or Cakes containing those ingredients. And if you went to Veilstone Cape, watch out for an Alpha Purugly since it will attack you on sight, making it more difficult to catch the Glameow.
“An Elegant Tail” is only one of the trickier Requests in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. For the complete list of all 94 Request objectives and rewards, don’t forget to check out our All Requests guide.
