Pokemon Legends: Arceus – How to Evolve Tangela

A tangled one, this Pokemon

Tangela is a Pokemon that debuted in Generation I of the long-running franchise and again makes an appearance in the series’ latest entry, Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Despite many aspects of the Pokemon series seeing a few changes and tweaks in the newest game, the game’s core still revolves around catching, battling, and evolving your Pokemon. Tangela can evolve in Tangrowth but doesn’t have an evolution requirement as simple as some others.

Tangela is a Pokemon that must learn a specific move in order to evolve in Tangrowth. The move-in question is known as Ancient Power. This move became tied to several Pokemons’ evolution since Generation IV, with Tangela being one of them, and once again appears in Legends: Arceus. Tangela can learn Ancient Power when it reaches level 24, so you will need to grind to get your Tangela to that level. To speed up the process, make sure you use Rare and EXP Candies and Tangela in battles. Simply level Tangela until it reaches level 24 and make sure it learns Ancient Power. Once that is done, you will be able to evolve Tangela into Tangrowth.

Once you do this, you will be given the prompt to evolve your Tangela. When a Pokemon is ready to evolve, the Pokeball icon next to their name in the menu is glowing yellow. Unlike other entries in the series, you will need to evolve the Pokemon manually. Simply scroll over to the Pokemon in question and press the X button to have it evolve and grow stronger. Doing so will evolve your Tangela into a Tangrowth in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
