This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

Pokemon Masters EX has a new event set to release on May 16 that will run all the way until the end of the month, May 27. The event, entitled ‘Special Event Phase 2: Land and Sea Awaken’, is a continuation of the current ‘Event Phase 1: Weather Alert’ which has had players investigating strange rain and drought patterns throughout the artificial Pokemon paradise of Pasio.

Pokemon Masters EX Event Phase 2

It turns out these strange changes in climate may have something to do with a certain pair of weather-changing legendary Pokemon (cough, cough, Kyogre, and Groudon) and players will be tasked with battling them using weather survey tickets. DeNA Co., the developers of the mobile game, mention that the “collective decisions of the player community will dictate the number of rewards that will be distributed” in this phase.

Consistent Pokemon Masters EX players will likely already have a collection of these tickets built up as they have been available since the start of the first phase on May 5, but those who don’t can start earning them by completing their one daily battle in the event arena. Players who log into the game during this new phase will also be eligible for a Team Magma or Team Aqua badge (depending on which corresponding legendary Pokemon is defeated more times) as well as the following bonus rewards:

  • Players who complete battles in this event will earn rewards that can be exchanged for items like 5★ Power-Ups and co-op sync orbs.
  • A bonus reward of Gems, 5★ Power-Ups, and Move Candies will be distributed at a later date, with the amount of rewards dependent on the total number of battles that the player community completes during this event.

Pokemon Masters EX Splash and Punch

There are also new sync pairs from Pokemon: Sword and Shield being added in this update, with Nessa & Drednaw and Bea & Sirfetch’d making an appearance to accompany some of the previously added Sword and Shield favorites, Gloria and Zacian. Finally, the ‘Splash and Punch’ solo event has also been introduced until May 28, pitting Galar gym leaders Nessa and Bea against former gym leaders Misty and Maylene. This event will also feature player rewards and daily log-in bonuses which can be viewed here.

You can find further additions and the finer details behind the release on the Pokemon Masters EX website.
