Larvesta and Volcarona are two members of the same evolution family in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that combine the unlikely pair of elements of Fire and Bug into one creature. To catch the small Torch Pokémon, Trainers must search the expanse of the Asado Desert within the West Province of Paldea. Unlike the majority of this desert’s residents, Larvesta does not spawn very often; therefore, players are encouraged to increase their Encounter Power for Bug-type pocket monsters by eating an Ultra Potato Salad Sandwich or Ultra Variety Sandwich. When caught, Larvesta can also drop Larvesta Fuzz, a TM Material used for crafting Fire Blast and Heat Wave.
Evolving Larvesta into Volcarona in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Evolving Larvesta into Volcarona in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a straightforward process but far from easy. Larvesta’s evolution occurs after the Bug- and Fire-type Torch Pokémon reaches Level 59, which is quite a high requirement considering there is no second evolution form between the two.
During the early portions of one’s playthrough in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, there are no easy ways of leveling pocket monsters other than basic activities. These activities include battling Trainers or Wild Pokémon and ensuring the target evolver is within one’s active team. However, later on, players will be able to participate in Tera Raids and quickly their pocket monsters through Raiding and EXP Candy, the rewards earned from these Raids. This method still takes quite some time but is much faster than fighting every Wild Pokémon or Trainer in sight.
Once Trainers manage to gain access to The Great Crater of Paldea after completing all three storylines of the main campaign, YouTuber ConCon suggests an excellent idea for power-leveling Larvesta into Volcarona in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Area Zero spawns a wide variety of high-level pocket monsters that can easily be farmed for their EXP. Such monsters include Chansey, which drops a massive amount of EXP from direct battles. ConCon demonstrates that groups of Chanseys can be found in Research Station No. 3’s level of Area Zero. If players explore the semi-hidden cave to the left of a stone arch, they will find a grotto full of Chanseys. Be sure to avoid using Let’s GO auto-battling since that will not grant the EXP rewards needed to evolve Larvesta into Volcarona in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
