Pokemon Unite has today launched its October 8 update on all platforms, so here’s the full list of changes and fixes with this patch. The balance team is being super quick to act this time around, with some changes being dished to Sylveon only a few days after its release. Some would argue this is a bit quick to act, as players haven’t had much of a chance to get accustomed to her kit and learn how to play or play against her. But alas, it’s what the team believes is the best action at this point. Without further adieu, here’s everything new with the October 8 Pokemon Unite update!
Pokemon Unite October 8 Update Patch Notes
Sylveon
- Magical Flame – The amount of damage done to the opponent’s Pokemon has been reduced.
- Hyper Voice – The amount of damage done to the opponent’s Pokemon has been reduced.
As you can tell, there isn’t a lot to talk about here. There is expected to be some general bug fixes though, as the team tends to do that with most updates coming out for the game. Don’t expect anything to write home about. As for the changes to Sylveon though, these seem to be nerfs across the board which is quite surprising. While I’m personally ignorant of the state of the game, there has to have been a good reason to nerf her so quickly. It’s clear the balance team saw she was way over-tuned, or else she would’ve been fixed alongside others in a smaller balance patch. Suppose we’ll never know. In the meantime at least, I hope those of you who enjoyed playing Sylveon don’t feel that these changes have rendered it unplayable. Wouldn’t want the character to be dead on arrival.
Pokemon Unite is available on Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS. For more information regarding this update, check out the official website.
