Toni (@tonimariereed) says she booked a party at Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse in Kansas City for her daughter’s birthday. Eighteen people attended the birthday dinner. Toni says that from the start of the night, “service was a mess.” She said the food came out cold and, when they sent it back, the servers reheated it instead of remaking it. On top of that, she claims dishes were given to the wrong people, and there were extensive wait times for their food.
Toni was fed up when she said her “daughter’s food came out wrong” after they already waited a long time. At that point, Toni told them, “Just take it off the bill.” She said they didn’t make a scene and they weren’t refusing to pay. A few minutes later, Toni looked up and saw police standing at the door. She immediately asked the manager why they were called. The manager answered, “It’s to make sure no one ran out” without paying them.
Toni was shocked by this. She said they were just a “table full of black people celebrating a 12 year old’s birthday.” She was upset that her 12-year-old had to walk past police officers, who watched their every move until they paid and left. Toni recorded the officers, who stood there to make sure they paid for the service before leaving. Everything was allegedly said, as the audio for these events was muted.
