Battle! Level up! Build! From the publisher (505 Games) that brought you 2015 indie darling Two Brothers comes Portal Knights, a cooperative action RPG in randomly-generated sandbox worlds.

Originally released February 25, 2016, on Steam as an early access product, Portal Knights has come to Xbox One and Playstation 4 markets ahead of its release with a free, playable demo.

Portal Knight
What class will you choose to battle foes like The Hallow King

Alongside 4-person online co-op, Portal Knights will also feature two-player split screen, so you and a buddy can play on the couch. Choose to team up with friends or go it alone, either way, players will be able to choose between Warrior, Mage or Ranger classes with a full range of customization options at your disposal.

To defeat Portal Monsters and Portal Guardians, Knights must not only build their skills and gather rare loot – earned through quests and random events – but will need to learn to build their own resources. Learn to craft, upgrade stations and expand recipe list to survive the ever changing landscapes of the realms.

While regions may be procedurally generated, each land will carry its own unique charm. Explore unique caves, lakes, and dungeons in each, excepting quests from the many NPC’s scattered throughout the lands.

Portal Knights
Exhausted from fighting and roaming the harsh landscapes? Return home to relax with you pet frog

There will also be a more leisurely side to Portal Knights as well. Alongside crafting and building useful materials for fighting, the game will allow players to build and furnish homes. These homes will be filled with whatever the heart desires, unique furniture, treasures from previous journeys and even adopted pet companions.

It is currently unknown whether experience and items gathered in the demo will transfer over to the main game. But be sure to check back to the site for more updates leading up to Portal Knight’s official release on May 23rd, 2017.
