Everyone remembers the little red, blue, and green Powerpuff Girls that took over weekly aired cartoon channels years ago. Now, the cartoons are easy to access, considering their availability on subscription services. As a result, many fans were excited to finally see a live-action Powerpuff Girls series coming to the big screen. Unfortunately, it seems those dreams will be crashed going forward, as the Powerpuff Girls live-action series is being canceled.Â
Powerpuff Girls Live Action Series Is No Longer Happening at CW

Powerpuff Girls being canceled probably won’t surprise many people as it is expected from CW at this point to cancel shows before they set the big screen. Between channeling many of the DC series, The Winchesters, and much more, it is hard to say what direction the CW wants to go in. However, sadly, the Powerpuff Girls live-action TV series will not be going forward as it was scrapped by the CW.
Initially, The Powerpuff Girl live-action adaptation was to star Dove Cameron, who is known for her work on Disney Channel, Chloe Bennet, who was a prominent character in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and also a Broadway Star, Yana Perrault. These beautiful woman actors were to play Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. They have even been shown wearing their inspired custom colors around while working on the pilot, but the show will not be picked up or proceed to go further.
The Powerpuff Girls was an American animated series on Cartoon Network about three girls with superpowers. Their father was a scientist named Professor Utonium, which helped the mayor fight crime around the city of Townsville by helping his daughters. The girls were kindergarten-aged, but in the live-action series, they were meant to be a lot older. It is quite sad we won’t be seeing this series on CW after not having any Powerpuff Girls content for so long.
