The iTunes store has released an app called Pokemon Photo Booth. It allows trainers–err, users–to snap a picture and add one of the several Pokemon-styled captions, or create a custom filter design for the image. Below are the specs for the app.

Release date: February 24, 2016
Version 1.0
Size: 51.6 MB
Languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish (Seriously? No Japanese? They only invented the whole series!)
Requires iOS 8.0 or later
Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

Left: Gomamon fainted. Right: Lego Sharpedo.

Pokemon Photo Booth is a free app, and photos can be shared via Twitter, Facebook, and other social media or made into a profile picture. Though only Apple users can enjoy the app now, The Pokemon Company assures us the Android version is on its way. 2016 is already a big year for Pokemon with new games, a new movie, and the whole 20th-anniversary thing going on. And while Pokemon Photo Booth is little more than a small-time photo editor, its potential for ridiculousness far exceeds the sum of its parts.

What would truly make this app wonderful would be the ability to use it on another app or game to take a screenshot. Having just been released a very short time ago, there aren’t many reviews or feedback available just yet. However, as Pokemon Photo Booth is a free app, there’s nothing to lose by downloading it. Except time from your life.
